Daniel Walsh wins the Canterbury 10K for Istead & Ifield Harriers

Runners from Istead and Ifield Harriers filled the first two places in the second Canterbury 10K road race on Sunday.
Daniel Walsh crossed the line in 38min 17sec to take the title, 24 seconds ahead of team-mate Derek George (38.41), with unattached Tim Scott (39.06) completing the top-three.
London Heathside's Elspeth Storrar (41.37) was the leading female, finishing comfortably ahead of Kirsten Eastland (45.26) and Invicta East Kent athlete Vicky Talbot Rosner (45.33).
Tony Mardon (41.29) was the leading male vet-40-49, with Nicholas Brown (Dulwich Runners, 40.08) first in the 50-59 category, and Peter Watts (Swanley & District, 45.20) the top vet 60+.
Zoe Lawton-Barrett (47.35) was the first female in the 35-44 years age group, while Helen Brown, of Hastings Runners (49.33), was top in the 45-54 class and Helen Storrar (Jelly Legs, 55.31) took the honours in the 55+ class.
