England international batsman Zak Crawley has penned a Kent contract extension.

The former Tonbridge School pupil, who has 47 Test caps for his country to his name, has signed another one-year deal.

He said: “I absolutely love playing for my county and it was another easy decision to stay here for a further year.

“I’m looking forward to being available for Kent as much as I can next year and putting in performances, wearing the White Horse in multiple formats.”

A product of Kent’s Academy, the 26-year-old has made 147 appearances for his home county to date after making his debut in 2017. He has scored more than 6,000 runs across all formats.

The latest of his 10 Kent centuries was a mammoth score of 238 in their County Championship Division 1 defeat to Somerset in May.

But those 238 runs made up the majority of the red-ball runs he scored for Kent in 2024 as he finished the summer with a total of 322 runs at an average of 32.20.

News of Crawley’s contract extension comes a day after Kent added South African-born domestic batsman Chris Benjamin to their ranks from Warwickshire.

Crawley will be available for Kent around his international commitments throughout next summer.

Director of cricket Simon Cook, who will soon begin the processing of appointing head coach Matt Walker’s successor after the 50-year-old’s exit, said: “When he’s available, Zak elevates our top-order batting and he is, of course, a great role model for our young batters despite himself only being 26.

“I’m delighted that Zak has extended his Kent contract for a further year as we begin to plan for the 2025 season and beyond.”

Crawley is expected to next be in action in an England shirt, having been recalled to the Test squad for their three-match series with Pakistan, which will begin in Multan on Monday.
