Kent's Joe Denly on talk of a possible England recall
00:00, 05 June 2018
Joe Denly is determined not to let any talk of an England recall affect his form for Kent.
The 32-year-old played nine one-day internationals for England in 2009 and five T20 internationals - but has not featured for his country since February 2010.
Two centuries in this season's Royal London One-Day Cup competition and more than 400 runs at an average in excess of 100 have led many observers to put Denly's name forward for England honours again.
Whatever happens this time around, Denly is keen to make sure his runs don't subsequently dry up at county level.
"I feel pretty good about my game at the minute with a few scores in this one-day competition," he said.
"I'm not focused on playing for England at all, my main focus is on trying to score runs for Kent and win games for Kent.
"I went through a tricky period when I did play for England and got dropped. All my focus (then) was on trying to get back into that England team and I kind of went missing for a year or two.
"I've got a real focus on just performing for Kent and enjoying my cricket. If recognition comes from that then great, if not then I'll just keep on scoring runs."
