THE battling skills of black belt Christopher Quenby, a student at Canterbury's Simon Langton Grammar School, have earned him a trip to Argentina.

The 15-year-old has been selected to represent the England Under-18 squad in the World Tai Kwondo Championships.

He is one of a number of youngsters from the Thanet Tae Kwondo Club selected for the trip by its instructor, Ted Wolf, who is also in charge of the British team.

Quenby, who lives in Canterbury, has a number of titles under his belt, including the British Under-16 Championship. He said: "I like lots of sports but I just want to go as far as I can in tae kwondo."

The squad will leave for the 10-day trip to South America early in November.
