England were skittled out for just 75 as they lost the third Women's One-Day International against Australia on Sunday.

A bumper crowd of more than 3,000 were at the St Lawrence ground in Canterbury to see if England could hit back after losing the first two ODIs.

Instead, after opting to field first, England were left chasing Australia's 269-7 - but they collapsed with the bat as they suffered their heaviest ODI defeat at home.

Ellyse Perry took a career-best 7-22 - the fourth-best figures in women's cricket - as England fell to 5-3, 10-4 and then 21-6 in reply.

Aussie opener Alyssa Healy took advantage of some wayward early bowling to reach a half-century at more than a run a ball, before falling for 68. But her partnership of 109 with captain Meg Lanning (69) laid the foundations of a good score.

Nat Sciver took 3-51 to check Australia's progress, although they rallied at the end to go beyond the 250-mark.

England's reply got off to an awful start when opener Amy Jones found mid-on for a third-ball duck. Kent's Tammy Beaumont failed to repeat last year's century against South Africa on her home ground, trapped in front for four and then Sarah Taylor went first ball.

Sciver also failed to trouble the scorers and by the time skipper Heather Knight and Danni Wyatt were back in the pavilion, any hopes England had of reaching the target were in tatters at 21-6.

Fran Wilson added 17 and it was left to Laura Marsh (21) to top score as they limped their way beyond 50 and were eventually dismissed for just 75 in less than 33 overs.

It means England now need to win the Test match and all of the T20 games to regain the Ashes.
