Hinkins back to lead rugger men
00:00, 02 September 2004
SKIPPER Chris Hinkins returns to lead his Canterbury rugby side into Preliminary Round Powergen Cup action at Ealing on Saturday.
If they are successful they can look forward to a home match against National 3 South club Weston-super-Mare on September 18 in the First Round proper of the national competition.
Hinkins, who missed last week's narrow cup victory over Hadleigh, must wait for late decisions on fitness before he knows his final line-up with question marks hanging over Andy Harris and Dan Weigh. Back row man Chuck Kepa is already ruled out. Whichever 15 takes the field they face a demanding task against a London 2 club which has had large financial resources poured into it and last week defeated first division opponents Bishop's Stortford.
The Canterbury team coach leaves club headquarters at 10.30am and there are places for supporters wanting to travel. Kick-off is 3pm.
