Kent head groundsman Mike Grantham and Beckenham’s Andy Peirson have both been honoured at the ECB Groundsman of the Year Awards.
Grantham was named runner-up groundsman for the one-day pitches he produced at Canterbury while Peirson was commended in the outground category for the pitches he produced at Beckenham.
Kent’s Commercial & Operations Director Jon Fordham said: “Both Mike and Andy worked hard on the pitches, with their respective teams, throughout the season so we are delighted that they were rightly recognised by the ECB. It was a wet summer and the ground staff at both Canterbury and Beckenham put in many hours of hard work, during some testing conditions, so we thank them for their dedication.”
Continuing a pattern that has been in place for a number of years, Bill Gordon from The Brit Oval won both the four-day and one-day pitches title.
