Beckenham kept the pressure on leaders Bexley with a 181-run win over HSBC on Saturday.

Kent's Alex Blake top scored with 98 and Will MacVicar hit 72 as Beckenham posted 240-6 from their 50 overs.

HSBC were bowled out for just 59 after MacVicar's 5-25.

Skipper Alex Senn won the toss and elected to bat first, opening with Rob Clements while Bank skipper Sadiq Hassan pushed through his off-spin at the Summer Pavilion end and overseas Ishmail September bowled accurate seam from the Pavilion end.

Both batsmen appeared to have settled in when September nailed Clements in front for six.

MacVicar was soon into his stride but found that the accuracy of the Bank attack, backed up by excellent fielding, hampered his normal free-scoring style.

After a tight spell, Hassan took himself off and brought on ex-Bromley leg-spinner Nathan Hill who is joining the Royal Marines in September.

As a steady partnership developed without setting the scoreboard alight, it was Hill who made the next breach by having the Beckenham skipper leg-before for 22.

In came former Bank player Blake, fresh from another century for Kent 2nds during their Second XI Trophy win over Durham.

Now the run rate began to increase as Blake raced to his fifty in 40 deliveries.

MacVicar, meanwhile, impressed at the other end to arrive at his own half-century after 101 balls.

The partnership was finally ended with the return of Andrew Faulkner who bowled MacVicar for 72.

September, having endured a tough time against Blake, removed Stuart Binny and then claimed the prized wicket of Blake, just two runs away from a century when he edged behind to Andrew Wright.

Beckenham's lower order saw out the overs to take their side to a score of 240-6.

The Bank reply started poorly as MacVicar trapped Richard Golbourn leg before third ball.

At the other end, it was business as usual for Binny with his easy run-up and action hitting an immaculate line and length, with the IPL bowler sending Sam Perks back for one.

The situation worsened as MacVicar began an inspired spell, taking three wickets for eight runs in just two overs, including the dangerous Matt Abbett for a duck.

At 17-5, HSBC were in dire straits with Binny adding another wicket when he trapped Alan Slater in front.

Bank skipper Hassan scored 20 in a spirited effort, but this was short-lived as Mahi Mahfuzul had him holing out to Mudit Dayal, before MacVicar added a fifth wicket to his tally as the visitors were bowled out for 59.

Tunbridge Wells won by nine wickets in their meeting with Bickley Park.

Having elected to bat, Park saw no player score higher than 15 as they were bowled out for 71 after 33.1 overs.

William Holcombe top scored for his team on 15, while Ari Karvelas picked up 3-12 and four maidens in a 10 over spell.

Ian McLean and Marcus O'Riordan also contributed two wickets apiece, with the latter producing a superb slip-catch.

Christopher Williams (35 not out) and Sam Stickler (26 not out) made light work of the run chase to reach a winning score of 71-1 in 10.2 overs.

Sandwich beat Blackheath by seven wickets after chasing down a winning tally of 225-3.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Blackheath lost opener George Wells for a duck after three balls before Dipayan Paul struck 35.

Once Paul was bowled by Alex Smith, Mohammad Ashraful stepped up with 25 before being caught by Rory Smith off the bowling of Matt Van Poppel, who picked up 3-36.

Tanweer Sikandar went for a top score of 48, which was later added to by Richard Fleming (32) and Jahid Ahmed (45) as Blackheath finished on 224-9.

Sandwich openers Zack Fagg and Finley Beaman hit 50 between them before the latter was dismissed for 21 after being caught by Chris Willetts off the bowling of Paul.

Fagg eventually top scored on 78 and Tom Chapman struck an unbeaten 54 to help Town seal the win in 46.2 overs.

Canterbury lost by 87 runs against Sevenoaks.

Opting to bat first, Sevenoaks were led by a first-wicket stand of 66 from Ben Price (56) and Oliver Durell (14).

Michael Barber top scored for his side on 84 following a 53-run partnership with Luke Schlemmer and Adam Rouse offered 40 as Sevenoaks finished 280-9.

The standout bowler for Canterbury had been Stuart Drakeley with figures of 3-34.

Canterbury slipped to 14-2 in reply after losing openers Bradley Goldsack and Elliot Lewis in quick succession.

Justin MacVicar steadied proceedings with 25 until he was stumped by Price off the bowling of Andrew Reid-Dick, who took 4-46.

Drakeley contributed 50 from 84 balls, but was gone one run later after being caught by Miles Richardson off the bowling of Reid-Dick.

Isaac Dilkes (45) and Sam Burt (15) produced a 52-run stand that eventually ended when the latter hit into the hands of Price off Rouse.

A string of single-digit scores from the tail saw Canterbury fall short on 193 all out.

Bexley remained top of the table thanks to a six-wicket win over Lordswood.

Invited to bat, Lordswood were led out by a 78-run partnership between openers Linden Lockhart (58) and Hugh Scott (30).

The latter was bowled by Adam Riley (3-22) on the back of his departure at Kent after nine seasons at the club.

Both Michael French and Jack Laraman were dismissed before Lockhart's innings came to an end when he was bowled by Freddie Foster.

Taylor Chandler added 22 as Lordswood were bowled out for 178.

After losing Matt Cross for five, Bexley rallied through Calum Basey (35) and Matthew Stiddard (32).

Calum MacLeod supplied 56 alongside Shaun Evans' unbeaten 40 to help Bexley to a winning total of 181-4 in 38.3 overs.
