Ollie Robinson has agreed a contract extension set to keep him at Kent until the end of the 2021 season.

The wicketkeeper-batsman has compiled 406 runs at an average of 36.91 in Division 1, including a career-high 143 against Warwickshire and 103 at home to Yorkshire.

He has also impressed with the gloves in the absence of skipper Sam Billings as he continues his recovery from shoulder surgery.

Robinson told Kent's official club website: “To represent your home county is a real honour and I’m thrilled to commit to two further years here.

“I’m pleased with the start I’ve made in the first team but I’m always looking to improve and work on my game.

“I know that I’m at a county where I can keep developing and I’m looking forward to future challenges alongside this group of players.”

The Kent academy scholar signed his first professional deal at the club in September 2017 before making his first-class debut against Leicestershire in August the following year.

Director of cricket Paul Downton added: “I am really pleased Ollie has decided to make a commitment to Kent as we look to develop a side which can compete with the best.

“He has done remarkably well since graduating from our Academy in 2017 and has become a core member of our first team this season.”
