Kent spinner James Tredwell has been included in England’s 16-man squad to tour Sri Lanka.
The party will leave on Sunday, November 16 for a seven-match One-Day International series.
And Tredwell’s team-mates, Sam Billings and Adam Riley, have been included in the England Performance Programme (EPP) squad this winter.
The 23-year-old wicketkeeper from Pembury and the 22-year-old spinner from Sidcup are included in a 19-player squad at the National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough University in October.
Kent head coach Jimmy Adams said: “The lads have worked hard, they deserve their opportunity and I am sure they will make the most of it.
“It is a good chance for James, Sam and Adam to work on their game in the winter with the England set-up and hopefully play some competitive cricket.
“The call-ups are a great testament to our backroom staff for the first team and the Academy.”
The England squad will use the Sri Lanka series to prepare for next year’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand while the EPP squad will travel to Sri Lanka for a three-week camp for spin bowlers and batters ahead of selection for a Lions tour to South Africa in January.
