Canterbury's Tom Ward misses out in British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park
06:00, 25 September 2020
Tom Ward admitted it wasn't the greatest of weekends at Oulton Park.
The Canterbury British Superbike rider was taking part in round four with the Bike Devil Racing team.
Ward crashed out of race one at the last corner and was then forced to retire in race two with an arm injury and a technical problem, which hindered his chances.
“It wasn’t the greatest weekend,” Ward said.
“We had loads of potential but it just didn’t work out. I got horrendous arm-pump all weekend. I think it was my own fault as I did a training session on Wednesday. It’s just so frustrating. I lost so much of the weekend because of that.
“There are still a lot of positives to take. I tested a new front tyre which gave me a lot of confidence plus some set-up changes. We got a better feeling with the bike and we worked really well together but there are plenty of things to take on to Donington.”
