The good times have arrived at Whitstable Town and now the Oystermen are braced for two huge home games in a week.

Nicky Southall’s FA Trophy heroes are gearing up for a mouth-watering tie at home to Ebbsfleet on Saturday week (December 14) after coming from behind to stun Hendon on Sunday.

Before that, on Saturday, Town must tackle a Peacehaven & Telscombe who sit third in Ryman League Division 1 South and are chasing a second successive promotion.

Whitstable were due to host league leaders Hastings on Tuesday but the Ryman League have postponed that game so they can rest ahead of the Trophy clash.

Manager Southall said: "We couldn’t wish for two bigger games, against one of the top three teams in the league and then the big cup tie against Ebbsfleet.

"It’s a great draw. There’s good interest for the county and for everyone concerned. We don’t have to travel miles across the county and I think we deserved a decent home draw. Hopefully we’ll get a good crowd in."

Whitstable fought back from 3-1 down to beat Walton & Hersham 4-3 on Tuesday night, their seventh straight win in all competitions.

Craig Thompson, Peter Huggens, Jordan Wells and Steve Hafner netted on an extraordinary night which left Southall marvelling at his side’s powers of recovery.

He said: "The amount of effort and the performance levels from my players over the last month has been amazing."

Adam Hooper returns against Peacehaven after missing the last two games because of work commitments and Laurence Harvey is expected back after illness ruled him out in midweek.
