Ryman League 1 South manager Nicky Southall signs Mo Takaloo for Whitstable Town
11:44, 06 June 2013
Whitstable Town have signed striker Mo Takaloo and manager Nicky Southall is close to bringing in another centre-forward.
Takaloo, 33, was playing Kent Invicta League football with Ashford United last season and had agreed to join Kent League side Canterbury City before Town came calling.
Southall is confident he will score goals in the Ryman League, despite last appearing at this level four years ago.
He said: “You never lose it. Everyone deserves a second chance and I’ve opened the door for him.
“He knows where the goal is and that’s what I’ve been looking for.
“He’s coming here from the Kent Invicta League but that doesn’t bother me. He’s scored goals at this level and the level above.
“Sometimes you find yourself dropping down the leagues through no fault of your own. He’s had a bit of a reality check and wants to prove he’s still capable of playing at this level.
“He was looking for a step back into Ryman South and I’ve given him the chance to prove to everyone he can still cut it.”
