Sean Dickson says team spirit is high in Kent dressing room

Sean Dickson says there is a great team spirit in the Kent dressing room following their back-to-back wins in the Royal London One-Day Cup.

Dickson hit 68 not out to help the Spitfires to a one run victory against Hampshire on Sunday.

He said: “It was a nail-biter and one we should never have won with them needing six off the last two.

“The boys pulled through and bowled some remarkable overs.

“It’s a weird cliche as everyone always thinks there’s a chance as you don’t want to be that team that stops trying. From our point of view we are gelling really well and are believing whatever the situation.

“We showed there that with all that belief in each other we could actually do it and won the game.

“It’s a remarkable thing once you’ve got that team culture right and I think it is something we do have right this season and hopefully we can take forward into the rest of the year.”

Dickson missed out in the first two games of the 50-over competition with Kent opting to play an extra bowler.

He returned to the line-up for the win against Glamorgan on Friday.

Dickson said: “I back the coaches decision to go with the extra bowler in the first two games. It’s just nice to get the opportunity to show the coaches what I can do and hopefully moving forward I hope they select me again.

“If I play I will bat anywhere. I prefer batting up the order but I’ve batted everywhere in my career and the coaches probably see me as someone who can manipulate the middle overs.”
