Tony Munt catches 'Big Girl' mirror carp at Stonar Lake

At Stonar Lake a mirror carp known locally as 'Big Girl' has made another appearance on the bank, writes Paul Mercer.
Tony Munt was the latest angler to catch this specimen mirror carp which tipped his scales to 35lb 6oz and gave the happy angler a new personal best.
Fishing at Peg 38, Munt also caught six bream to 4lb.
Other notable carp catches from Stonar over the past few days have included Chris Gisby with four fish, including a new personal best mirror carp of 19lb 13oz, while Terry Culley had 13 more including a 21lb fully-scaled mirror.
Paul Corner targeted bream and finished his session with 25 fish to 5lb as well as a 3lb tench and a 12lb common carp. A great mixed bag fell to Dan Bean with 40 weighty bream to 7lb, six common carp to 12lb and a very fine mirror carp of 20lb 1oz.
More of the prolific waters' big bream fell to John Neame with12 to 7lb, as well as common carp of 11lb 4oz and 18lb 4oz.
Neame also went on to carefully net a 22lb 6oz mirror carp in another memorable stint.
As well as six carp to 15lb 4oz, Clinton Phillips bagged eleven bream to 9lb while Clive Phillips took 13 bream to 5lb, a brace of tench to 4lb and seven common carp, with his best weighing 16lb 8oz.
Alec Vickers enjoyed some great sport at Stonar with 14 rod-bending carp to 26lb and Tony Bills built up a great head of steam with seven small carp, 14 doubles and finally a brace of big mirrors weighing 21lb 9oz and 28lb 13oz.
At Fordwich Lake, there have been improved catches of carp with the north bank and 'deeps' areas both producing big fish. With carp to 33lb, Gavin Stewart bagged five, his best was a mirror while Colin Hurst had eight more to 'the magic' 30lb.
Ben Johnson fished over three sessions to catch six carp. His best were mid-20s.
A fully-scaled mirror carp of 17lb fell to Colin Winbush and three more big carp including a best fish in the form of a 26lb common was recorded by Jim Maylyn.
