Matt Walker says his Kent players will not get carried away after their thrashing of Nottinghamshire in the quarter-final of the Royal London One-Day Cup.

The Spitfires travel to Worcestershire on Sunday for the semi-final of the competition after beating Notts by nine-wickets on Thursday.

A place in the final at Lord’s on Saturday, June 30 is up for grabs for the winner.

Head coach Walker said: “Everybody understands where we are at as a group. There won’t be anyone getting carried away in the dressing room, we will enjoy this victory and put it in the confidence bank and move on.”

Worcestershire will be without key players Moeen Ali and skipper Joe Leach. Overseas player Callum Ferguson has been confirmed as their captain for the semi-final at New Road.

The Rapids won the North group of the competition after winning six of their eight matches and earning themselves a home semi-final.

Walker said: “They won the North group and have beaten some really good sides. They haven’t got there by accident and have some very dangerous players.

“They are probably a very similar side to us in many ways. Not full of superstars but have players that when they click they are a dangerous side.

“We know we will have to be on top of our game to beat them.”

Kent dumped the holders of the Royal London One-Day Cup, Nottinghamshire, out of the competition in spectacular style on Thursday.

Heino Kuhn scored his third century in four games to see them home with nine-wickets and 85 balls to spare.

Walker added: “Quarter-finals and semi-finals are all on the day and you can look at the odds I don’t know if we would be favourites or not. They (Worcestershire) are a Division 1 side and won the group people will look at this game (the Notts win) and see it as a heavy statement.

“You take each game as it comes and you start again. Your main focus is trying to get the best out of the players you have and getting a dressing room that want to play for each other and play with a smile on their face.”
