Tom Ward claims two top-20 finishes despite tyre problems in British Superbike race at Silverstone
06:00, 10 September 2020
Canterbury’s Tom Ward was held back by tyre problems during the British Superbike race weekend at Silverstone.
Despite the issues the Bike Devils Team rider still managed to claim a couple of top-20 finishes.
Starting on row six, he finished 18th in race one before going one better in his second outing. He finished 21st in race three.
Ward said: "Overall the weekend was really good even though the results didn't quite reflect that.
“We had really good pace in all the races until around lap 15 to 20 which is when frustratingly I gained tyre issues. Apart from that I definitely was in a position to bag some points.
“I am really looking forward to Oulton Park now (September 18-20). Me and the team can take lots of positives from the weekend."
