Weather keeps rugby club waiting
00:00, 11 September 2008
Canterbury's start to the new National 3 South season was put on hold for seven days after Saturday’s scheduled opener fell victim to the weather.
Torrential rain in the Bristol area left the Dings Crusaders pitch waterlogged and the game was called off early on Saturday morning.
The postponement was seen as a mixed by blessing by Canterbury Head Coach Danny Vaughan.
“We had a couple of pre-season injury problems which affected selection, “ he said.” Hopefully they may have cleared up by next weekend. The down side is that we now start against a strong side in Ealing who have had the benefit of playing a match and winning.”
