Webb Ellis Trophy coming to Kent

KENT rugby union fans can get their hands on the coveted Webb Ellis Trophy later this month when the World Cup comes to Canterbury.
The golden trophy, clinched by Jonny Wilkinson’s famous drop goal in the Telstra Stadium in Sydney, will be the top attraction at a tag rugby tournament to be held at the University of Kent on Tuesday, March 23.
More than 50 local senior and primary schools, as well as local rugby clubs, have been invited to take part in the day, but members of the public are also welcome to have their photographs taken with the cup which will be on site at from 11.30am to 1pm.
The English Rugby Football Union are also sending along their Sweet Chariot Tour road-show trailer, which includes a rugby museum, Wilkinson’s drop-goal simulator and England memorabilia shop.
