IT WAS a proud moment for young Freddie Fulton – the day he got to meet his illustrious namesake Lancashire and England cricketer Freddie Flintoff.

Kent’s former captain David Fulton took his young son, who turns two in September, to meet the star Test all-rounder at the Abbots Barton Hotel in Canterbury, where Lancashire’s side stayed for the duration of their game with Kent.

While he was there, little Freddie got big Freddie to autograph his copy of the recently released book aptly entitled When Freddie Met Freddie, penned by former Kent and England skipper Chris Cowdrey.

The book relates the children’s story of a cricket ball dubbed Freddie, whose life changes dramatically after being hit out of the ground by none other than Freddie Flintoff.
