Andy Hessenthaler has shifted his attention to the 60-point mark as Dover continue to hoist themselves clear of the National League relegation zone.

Whites head into Saturday’s meeting with Chesterfield at Crabble eight points above 21st-placed Havant & Waterlooville thanks to four points on their travels last week.

A 3-1 win at Dagenham & Redbridge last Tuesday was followed by a 2-2 draw on Saturday against Solihull Moors, who snatched a point in stoppage-time.

“You have to look at 50 points and see from there, but I want to look at 60 if I’m honest,” admitted boss Hessenthaler.

“Let’s try and get closer to 60, let’s get to that first.

“You never know, though, so it changes at times, every manager is looking to that magic point of 50 but I want to aim as high as possible.”

Chesterfield loom as a stern test on the back of a run that has seen them win three and draw one of their last four games.

Hessenthaler added: “They’re very dangerous, they’re one of the form teams.

“I know their manager John Sheridan really well from our playing days. I kicked him around the park a few times.

“John probably had a little bit more flair than I did but he’s a good guy. I look forward to meeting up with him afterwards.”

Anthony Jeffrey is in contention to return to the XI having landed from international duty with Guyana on the day of the Dagenham clash.

The winger started on the bench against Solihull, along with Ricky Modeste following his involvement with Grenada.

Hessenthaler added: “He (Jeffrey) played against Halifax and was excellent, he went away and didn’t return until the day of the game and was tired.

“He’s in our plans though, he’s done great.

“They’ve all done great and had good success away from the club. Kadell (Daniel) and AJ qualified for the Gold Cup and Ricky (Modeste) also won in his match.

“Everyone dreams of playing for their country, I’m pleased for all of them.”

Hessenthaler also had praise for defender Josh Passley, who has earned starts in the team’s last two outings.

He said: “I’m really pleased because he has been our No.1 right-back and he was out for a while with injury. He looks fit again, I thought he did great on Saturday.”
