Ten men arrested over a reported gang rape have had their bail dates extended.
On Mother’s Day, March 6, this year a woman in her 20s was allegedly sexually assaulted by a number of men while waiting for a bus home from Bluewater.
She was reportedly bundled into a van before being subjected to a sustained attack.
Eleven men were originally arrested by police after the incident, including one aged 16 and six other teenagers.
One of the 11 was released without charge and the rest were released on bail until June.
A 20-year-old had his bail extended by three months, until July 28, and then again until October 10.
A 16-year-old, two 17-year-olds, an 18-year-old and three aged 20 will appear again on December 13.
On December 14, three more, ages 18, 20 and 23, will also answer to bail.
Police have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the case.
It is being treated as an isolated incident and investigated by the force’s major crime team, but police declined to make any further comment on the bail extensions while the investigation is continuing.
