A man is behind bars after stealing thousands of pounds from the Bluewater restaurant where he worked.
Klestor Nikolla, 29, was jailed for seven months after he admitted taking more than £11,000 from Wahaca Mexican Market Eating at the Greenhithe shopping centre.
The former assistant manager deleted transactions from the records and took the cash from the till for his own pocket.
He also waited for other staff to go home so he could reopen the till in their names and refund items to steal the cash.
But the restaurant's computer system tracked the transactions - leading to Nikolla's conviction.
He was arrested on October 29, 2013 and charged on January 17 with theft by employee and 11 charges of false accounting between May 14, 2012 and March 18, 2013.
Nikolla, of Whitefields Road, Waltham Cross, pleaded guilty when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court and was sentenced to seven months in prison and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100.
DC Roger Harris said: "Nikolla took advantage of his position of trust and made sure he worked the last shift of the day so he could steal from the till when everyone else had gone home.
"The crime was committed over the space of a year and we worked closely with the shop to secure evidence to ensure Nikolla would be brought to justice before the court."
