Two burglars have been convicted after they stole expensive cars and a lorry following break-ins in Swanley.

Harry Cochrane and James Draper initially forced their way into a commercial premises off the A20 in June 2016, where they stole a number of power tools and an Iveco commercial lorry.

The pair then entered a neighbouring residential property, where they snatched mobile phones and found keys for two BMWs, which they also stole.

Staff arrived at the business premises the following morning to find it had been ransacked.

They alerted the victim living in the property next door, who discovered that as well as the theft of his cars, bicycles and power tools had also been stolen from his sheds and garage.

The stolen lorry was found a short distance away and on the following day, the two BMWs were also recovered from a workshop in Hertfordshire with their registration plates removed.

Cochrane and Draper were identified by police from CCTV and were arrested. Cochrane was also found to be in possession of a mobile phone stolen from the residential property.

At Maidstone Crown Court on December 6, Cochran, 20, and formerly of Leydenhatch Lane, Swanley, pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary and to the theft of a motor vehicle.

He also admitted a separate burglary which took place in London Road, Swanley on in December 2015.

Draper, 36, and formerly of Magpie Hall Close, Bromley pleaded guilty to two burglary offences.

Both men have been remanded in custody until sentencing during the week commencing January 23, 2017.
