A car fire has led to queues on the A2 this morning (Tuesday).
Several miles of traffic built up behind the incident on the road's coastbound carriageway between the Dartford Heath junction and the M25.
Fire crews were called to the Nissan, which was on the hard shoulder, at about 7.40am, but by then the flames had already engulfed the whole vehicle. No-one was injured and the blaze is thought to have been caused by an engine fault.
Highways Agency staff and police closed a small section of the inside lane around the wreckage to make the scene safe, but traffic was moving freely again by about 8.30am.
