Car crashes into wall in Green Walk, Crayford, during police chase

A garden wall was destroyed by a speeding motorist being pursued by police in a high-speed chase.

The resident affected, who lives in Green Walk, Crayford, near Dartford, watched from his front window as the driver ploughed through the barrier at the front of his house while being followed by two police cars.

The man, who did not wish to be named, said: "It happened about 2pm this afternoon.

"They must have been travelling at least 70 to 80 miles an hour.

"As the police attempted to box the suspect in, he mounted the pavement, hitting a lamppost before driving through a solid brick wall."

After failing to stop the motorist then sped away in the direction of Crayford Way.

A member of the Metropolitan Police knocked on the man's door and informed him they were still pursuing the driver.

Officers confirmed after the car hit the wall it continued down the road.

The occupants decamped and the vehicle then collided with two parked vehicles.

No injuries have been reported.

No arrests have been made and inquiries continue.
