For the past 20 years, Dartford family-run business ATB Computing Services Ltd has been offering support and management of IT systems to companies of all sizes.
The service covers a 24-hour, seven-day week and 365 days a year back-up provision which ensures clients’ IT systems are fully secured.
Customers range from a parasailing company to a market leader in vehicle safety systems.
A big migration project has currently been taken on for customers who have 2003 servers that are coming to end of their working life.
Demand in recent times has seen the firm move to larger offices at Invicta House in Sandpit Road and also become the first IT company in the UK to gain the coveted BS 25999-2 accreditation now replaced by the International Standard, ISO 22301.
Every business requires a tailor-made form of support, rather than a one-for-all approach, and ATB Computing has developed a range of services which are all provided, managed and maintained by them.
These include Cloud, Anti-Virus Solutions, DR solutions, project consultancy, co-location 24/7 system monitoring and support, data back-up, email filtering, website design and hosted services.
With a staff of seven and a young apprentice, employees are encouraged to go for additional training.
Owner and director Graham Hutson said the company took pride in speaking to customers in their language, and not computer jargon.
“We try and explain in a non-tech language, so people don’t worry about reporting their issues to us,” he said.
“Also we are incredibly proactive, with many customers who have been with us for a long time.”
Staff team events are popular alongside Christmas parties with partners and being taken out to lunch on birthdays.
Mr Hutson remains at the heart of the business, regularly dealing and personally meeting all potential customers, taking time to explain the business ethos, aspirations and service level of expectation.
The company has entered The Dartford and Gravesham Business Awards, which are supported by the Messenger, and each entrant gets a free profile in our papers and on our website.
This year’s award sponsors are Dartford council, Gravesham council, Barnes Roffe, Kent Business School (University of Kent), the KM Group (Dartford Messenger and Gravesend Messenger), Lloyds Bank, Thomson Snell and Passmore, Edinburgh House, University of Greenwich and Mid Kent College.
Time is running out to get your entry in - the closing date is Friday, August 7.
