Crime prevention charity Crimestoppers also joined police and Ashford-based support group Salus in Central Park on Wednesday.

The team then moved to the town's train station to speak to young people and answer questions and address concerns about crime and safety.

Messages were displayed to share advice to anyone worried or affected by knife crime as part of the Crimestoppers project called Fearless.

Insp Paul Diddams from the Dartford Community Safety Unit at Kent Police said: "We want our local young people to feel confident in knowing we are there to protect them and to offer them advice and assistance if they need it.

"We continue to work with our partners in order to ensure there is a joined up, collaborative approach in tackling any issues which arise and will continue to ensure a visible presence across the town and beyond.
