Couple caught up in bomb explosion

A FAMILY have spoken of their shock after a fatal bomb exploded in a popular holiday resort in Mallorca.
Barry Morgan, from Eglantine Lane, Horton Kirby, is staying with his family in an apartment in Palma Nova.
Mr Morgan said he was sitting beside the apartment pool when he heard an explosion and then watched as thick black smoke filled the air close to the beach.
He said: "I heard a massive bang and looked up to see a big cloud like a bonfire close to where we were.
"Everyone around the pool was standing up and looking.
"Last night there was a heavy police presence in the town and cars were being stopped at a nearby roundabout.
"Friends of ours were in Palma at the time and it took them three hours to get back to Palma Nova because of checks being carried out by police."

A second bomb was found later and detonated in a controlled explosion.
Airports and ports were closed for a short time in an effort by police to catch those involved.
