Driver speeds off from crash because he didn't want to be a sperm donor

A motorist who failed to stop after an accident claimed he did so because he wanted to get rid of his female passenger as he feared she wanted him to become a sperm donor.
Kevin Uings, 54, claimed in court he had been taking the woman to catch a train when he collided with a car in Sweyne Road, Swanscombe, but was so desperate to get the woman out of his vehicle, he carried on driving to the railway station.
Uings, of Mitchell Walk, Swanscombe, was at the wheel of a silver Peugeot 407, when he collided with a Vauxhall Corsa at about 10pm one night in May.
The impact then pushed the Corsa into another parked car, a Ford Zetec, but Uings still carried on driving and left the scene.
Later, during the early hours of the next morning, Uings was arrested and interviewed, a breath test and blood test carried out by officers proved inconclusive.
Uings was later charged with two count of failing to stop after an accident and pleaded guilty to the offences when he appeared before magistrates in Medway.
Defending himself, Uings told magistrates he had met up with the woman after a long period of absence when she came to visit him.
While catching up with her, Uings said she revealed she was planning on having IVF treatment in Holland.
He added: “I got the impression she was telling me because she wanted me to help.
“I was not happy and thought I’ve got to get rid of her and getting her to the train was my priority.
“She wanted me to be a donor and I was in a nervous state.”
Uings also told the court just before the impact happened he’d also he sneezed three or four times and put his hand over his face.
Magistrates fined Uings £200, endorsed his licence with five points and ordered him to pay £85 costs.
