A296 blocked in both directions near Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford

A woman was injured in an incident that blocked traffic in both directions on a key road near a hospital.
The A296 remains closed in both directions, close to Darent Valley Hospital with queueing traffic between the B2174 St James Lane (Darenth) and B255 Bean Lane (Bean) in Dartford.
There are no details yet about any injuries, but it is believed the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance has attended the scene.
A police spokesman said: “Officers were called at 1.50pm to a report of concern for a person in the Darenth Wood Road area of Dartford.
“We attended along with the ambulance service and a woman was taken to a London hospital for medical treatment after injuries were reported.
“The A296 was closed in both directions between the B2174, St James Lane in Darenth and the B255, Bean Lane at Bean while the incident was responded to.
“The road remains closed at present.”
The Arriva 428 bus service for Darent Valley Hospital is currently being diverted as a result.
