Crash investigators are appealing for witnesses after a multi-vehicle crash on the A2 which left a man suffering serious injuries.

The crash involved four vehicles which were a grey Jaguar F-Type, a black Ford Focus, a grey Ford Focus and a white articulated lorry.

The driver of the black Ford Focus, a man in his 30s from the Rochester area, suffered a serious injury and was taken to a London Hospital for treatment.

He remains in a serious condition.

The man who was trapped in one of the vehicles was freed by the fire service and crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to free a man from his car by removing the roof.

Drivers faced delays as they could only use the slip road onto the M25 and A282 anti-clockwise.

The road was fully opened later that morning.

Officers from Kent Police’s serious collision investigation unit are investigating the crash and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it.

They are also keen to gather any dash cam footage which has captured the incident, or has recorded the vehicles involved in the moments leading up to the smash.
