A total of 30 firefighters tackled a house blaze near Farnigham High Street last night.
When crews arrived, the roof of modern terraced house in the town centre was well alight.
The two-storey property was empty and there were no injuries.
A team was still at the scene this morning damping down and looking for hot spots.
Graeme Walkling, crew manager from Dartford Fire and Rescue, said when they arrived at about 10.20pm flames were coming from the roof which partially collapsed.
He said: "It was too dangerous to go in. We used a height vehicle to tackle the fire on the roof."
Crews from Sevenoaks, Swanley, Gravesend and London also attended.
The cause of the blaze is not known and is being investigated.
