Dartford 3 Lewes 0
12:52, 26 March 2011
Dartford cruised to a 3-0 win over Blue Square South strugglers Lewes on Saturday lunchtime to move within three points of the top-10.
Lee Burns went close to an early opener for the hosts but saw his attempt saved with Lee Noble’s follow-up also blocked by the keeper.
Danny Harris then opened the scoring on four minutes with a superb first-time strike into the top corner.
Harris went close to a second inside 60 seconds when he headed wide from a Burns cross and Burns dragged wide when clean through soon after before Tom Bonner headed against the bar with Charlie Sheringham’s follow-up blocked behind on 25 minutes.
The second goal arrived from the resulting corner when Tom Goodacre’s header was flicked into the net by Sheringham (pictured).
Burns was denied once again when clean through before the break and the hosts cruised through the second half before Sheringham turned in Ryan Hayes' cross to seal the rout with a third with the last kick of the game.
