Tony Burman headed to Lincolnshire this week determined to take nothing for granted in the build-up to the FA Trophy, second round tie against Blue Square Bet North side Boston United.

Having overseen training on Monday and with no midweek game, the Dartford boss made the near 300-mile round trip to York Street, the following night to see them face Bishop’s Stortford.

Burman said: "It was a chance to see them myself. I always try and watch other teams if I can and this week was one of them. We also had them watched last week against Blyth Spartans and the reports we have got say they are a good, strong side.

"It’s a tough game for us. They are a former League club, who are building their way back up to get there again.

"We have got home advantage, which should mean a good crowd and hopefully that willl give us the confidence and belief to go on and win."

Boston, co-managed by former much-travelled striker Jason Lee and Lee Canoville, visit Princes Park on Saturday, having knocked out North leaders Hyde in the previous round,

They include several players with plenty of Football League experience including defender Kevin Austin, striker Leon Constantine and 41-year-old keeper Paul Bastock.
