Dartford boss Tony Burman is hoping to have seen the back of a sickness bug before the weekend.

Members of the coaching staff, including Burman, together with a handful of players have been laid low with the illness during the week.

With two long-distance away trips coming up, it’s the last thing the Dartford manager needs.

Burman (pictured) had "seven or eight" people reporting ill in the week and so the postponement of their midweek Kent Senior Cup tie at Margate, due to a waterlogged pitch, will have been at least some relief.

"We had seven or eight people out sick (on Tuesday) and that includes the coaching staff and I’m included in that," said Burman.

"We are going to need everyone because we’ve got two big away games coming up. We need to dig in and pick up points here and there, get to the end of January and still be involved in it. It’s a tough period for us."

The Darts visit Tamworth on Saturday before heading to Nuneaton on Tuesday night.
