Three people have been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on the M25.
One lane was shut anticlockwise after Junction 2 for the Darenth Interchange, Dartford.
Drivers were temporarily held and then lane one of four was closed to allow traffic officers to safely work at the scene.
There were reports of congestion stretching to Junction 3 for the Swanley Interchange and delays of up to 25 minutes.
A spokeswoman from the ambulance service said: “We were called shortly after 10am yesterday (May 19) to reports of a multi-vehicle RTC near Dartford.
“Crews arrived and assessed and treated three people on scene before taking them to Darent Valley Hospital for further medical treatment.”
The lane was then reopened and queues began to ease at around 11.40am.
