A delivery driver was allegedly targeted by robbers armed with knives.
The man was delivering parcels in Hartley when he was reportedly approached by a man, assaulted and had his van stolen.
Police were called on September 14 to the incident in Well Field and have now charged two suspects who appeared in court today.
Danny Darling of Ansell Avenue, Chatham and Mark Read of St Patrick's Gardens, Gravesend were charged with robbery and possessing a knife in a public place.
It is alleged the stolen van was found in Cliffe on the same day of the attack with a quantity of parcels missing from the back.
The pair were arrested the same day but were not charged until this week.
Darling, 28, and Read, 35, have also been charged with the theft of a Ford Transit camper van in The Street, Canterbury on September 13.
Both men were remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
At that hearing, they were remanded to appear before Woolwich Crown Court on January 4, 2021.
