Dartford captain Elliot Bradbrook knew they would be in for a battle in the play-off final on Sunday and was delighted to have come out a winner.
Two tough matches against Welling during the regular league programme indicated what was in store for them.
He said: "It was a massive game and we knew what it meant to people. It was a bit of a blur to be honest.
"You just get out there and try and concentrate as much as you can and I am so pleased we have come out on top.
"That’s the third time we’ve played Welling and we knew exactly what we were going to get.
"They are a very good side and it was going to be a battle. We needed to rise to that and thankfully we did."
Bradbrook (pictured) struck 19 goals from midfield during the season but didn’t mind watching on as Lee Noble stole the headlines on Sunday.
He said: "I was over on the other side doing up my shoelace and as I looked over my shoulder I saw it fly in. It was a great goal."
