A restaurant manager has turned her passion for art into an exhibition bringing people together in many different ways.

Ewa Page is a boss at one of Bluewater's restaurants but is also an artist and, after a conversation with a friend, discovered how many creatives had struggled during lockdown, unable to exhibit their work due to Covid-19 restrictions.

But she also realised how their art had helped sustain mental wellbeing during what has been a difficult time for all of us.

And so, the idea of holding an exhibition - promoting an inclusive, uplifting, and joyful vibe, celebrating community, mindfulness and kindness - was born.

It will showcase work in a range of mediums from 60 artists across the south east.

Bluewater came on board immediately, offering a venue free of charge, and despite a starting point of zero funds, donations and pledges were secured from many businesses within the centre as well as others from the wider community.

Ewa teamed up with fellow artist, bespoke picture framer and member of the Fine Art Trade Guild, Allison Ridley, to run with it, and a talented young artist, Erika Roberta Notarianni, was soon recruited as secretary.

With support from friends and family, the trio are confident of delivering a unique opportunity for many artists, including young and emerging talent.

Called Under the Rainbow, the exhibition of uplifting art will be at Bluewater, in a lower floor unit near John Lewis, from September 27 until November 1, open daily from 11am-6pm.

It is free to visit and all the art exhibited will be for sale.
