Fire crews battle house blaze that engulfs roof of detached property in Farningham

About 30 firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a house in Farningham this morning.
Crews were called to the a roof fire in Maplescombe Lane at about 6.20am.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the whole roof of the detached property was ablaze.
Six fire engines, a bulk water carrier and ambulance were sent to the scene.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the flames.
By 8am, the incident was scaled down to four fire engines and crews were damping down and trying to salvage property.
A KFRS spokesman said the cause of the fire is not yet known.
