Firefighters say an electric bike left charging in overloaded plug sockets led to a shed catching fire in Ladywood Road, Dartford, this morning.
The shed and a large quantity of rubbish were well alight by the time crews arrived at the scene after they were called out just before 8am.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire but the shed, together with the electric bike and rubbish were completely destroyed.
Kent Fire and Rescue advise not to overload sockets or connect multiple extension leads, or leave batteries charging for longer than necessary.
