A pensioner who used to go to Dartford West Secondary Modern School is trying to organise a reunion with his former class mates.
Terry Berrecloth, 80, was born in the former West Hill Hospital, Dartford, on June 20, 1938, but now lives in Queensland, Australia.
He went to Oak Field Lane Primary School from 1943 to 1949 and then went on to the former Dartford West Secondary Modern, Highfield Road, Dartford, from 1950 to 1953 and lived in Myrtle Road on the Tree Estate.
On completion of his engineering apprenticeship at J&E Hall, he flew around the world working on projects until he started his own company.
However, Mr Berrecloth says time is catching up with him and after this year he’ll be travelling around the world less, but is returning to England in a few months and hopes to meet up with some old school friends.
He said: “I plan to return and celebrate my 80th with my family.
“I’d like to meet up with members of form 4M who were at Dartford West Secondary Modern in 1953.
“The difficulty is locating them I have tried Facebook, but with little success.
“What I would like to do is invite them to join my wife and family for a proper Saturday afternoon country pub lunch somewhere in the Darent Valley in mid September, 65 years after leaving school.”
The photo features Trevor Knowles, Ian Smoker, Brian King, Sid Steel, Denis Mortimer, Rodger Clare, Johnny Burton, Fred Colyer, Dave Wilson and form master Mr Nash. Other names and faces he can remember are Fred White, John Wickenden, Mike Levine, Bart McGrath, Des Jones, Bill Young, Mike Smith, George Gregory, Gary Watkins, Colin Archer.
Ian Smoker, Sid Steel and John Wickenden have passed away.
