Gateshead 2 Dartford 0

Dartford returned empty-handed from the North-East after Gateshead goals either side of half-time halted their four-game winning run with a 2-0 win.
These were not unfamiliar surroundings for the Darts, who were drawn away to the Tynesiders in last season’s FA Trophy. They lost 3-0 that day and, unfortunately for the hardy band of travelling supporters, Saturday’s rematch followed a similar script.
Tony Burman’s side almost took the lead when Harry Crawford headed a Ryan Hayes cross over the bar. Gateshead then hit the woodwork before Elliot Bradbrook (pictured) went close for the visitors.
However, Dartford fell behind five minutes before the interval. Ryan Donaldson delivered an inviting cross and Micky Cummings powered his header past Darts keeper Marcus Bettinelli.
Reeling from the goal, the visitors struggled to build any great attacking momentum after the interval. Josh Gillies made it 2-0 on 63 minutes, collecting Jamie Chandler’s pass and driving the ball into the net.
Jacob Erskine could still have pulled a goal back for Dartford but his downward header bounced over after Jon Wallis had picked him out in the box.
