Crews tackle grassland blaze on marshes near Manor Way, Swanscombe

Firefighters tackled a large fire on grassland during the early hours of this morning.
Crews from Dartford fire station were called out to Swanscombe Marshes at about 4am and found the grass well alight.
The blaze, which covered about 50 square metres, was causing a lot of smoke in the area and crews and was affecting people living in nearby Manor Way.
Crews used beaters and hoses to put out the flames and spent more than an hour-and-a-half at the site.
The cause of the fire is not known.
