An accident, fog and the closure of the Dartford tunnel on the first morning back after half term caused traffic to back up as far as Medway and Maidstone this morning

Motorists were at a standstill as far as Swanley on the M25 going north, and all the way along the A2 and up to to Blue Bell Hill on the M2 going London-bound, during rush hour.

An accident reported on the approach to the crossing and a foggy start added to the trouble on the road.
