Eight young people including a toddler had a frightful journey to a Halloween celebration last night after getting stuck in a lift.
The party were heading out from an eight-storey block of flats in Dartford when they found themselves jammed on the ground floor.
Firefighters from Dartford came to their rescue and managed to get them out by fixing the electricity supply on the top floor of the building in Langley Square.
Crew Manager Jason O’Reilly said all of them, including a young girl, remained calm despite being in the lift for about 30 minutes before they were called at about 8.35pm
Mr O’Reilly said: “They were in good spirits because they had a few beers they were taking out with them.
"Although we did get a bit of surprise because one of them was covered in red and we thought at first it was blood and she had injured herself.”
