Pupils and staff welcomed a Russian visitor to mark an historic partnership.
Lyudmilla Sukhanova, headmistress of Perm School in Russia, visited Dartford Grammar School on Tuesday and met headmaster John Oakes to sign a partnership between the two schools.
It is hoped the agreement will increase cultural exchanges between the two countries, develop friendships and improve education.
Students will learn about the culture of the other country, how their school works and how they live.
As well as the possibility of an exchange between the two schools, there will also be video conferences.
DGS is also considering teaching Russian in the lower school, a strategic language for international business.
