Teenage fundraiser Jonjo Heuermann, who has raised more than £260,000 to help beat cancer, has won a citizen awards medal.
The 14-year-old, from Wilmington, will be among the recipients of the British Citizen Youth Awards for his efforts in supporting the Bobby Moore Fund and Cancer Research UK.
Jonjo will join 19 other young people who will be presented with a medal at the inaugural event at the Palace of Westminster on Tuesday, October 18.
He said: “I was very surprised and really proud to be awarded a national British Citizens Award for my fundraising.
“I am really looking forward to going to The Palace of Westminster to receive it soon.
“I hope it helps me to raise more funds and awareness for Cancer Research UK and inspires other young people to fundraise too.”

He has cycled and walked thousands of miles to raise money for cancer charities after he was inspired by his football hero, Bobby Moore, and his grandmother who died of bowel cancer seven years ago.
In April, the West Ham fan completed an epic charity cycle from Dortmund to Wembley.
Thanks to his fundraising efforts he has raised a total of £268,316.
Jonjo is no stranger to receiving awards as earlier this year he was the youngest to be named on the New Year’s Honours list and be given the British Empire Medal.
At the age of 11 he was already being recognised at the British Red Cross Humanitarian Citizen Awards as he won the over-all humanitarian award and fundraising award.
