Volunteers from Darent Valley Hospital’s radio station are looking for new members.

The team from Valley Park Radio were at Asda in Gravesend on Friday looking to recruit anyone willing to spare some time.

Phil Royce Murfin, the station’s chairman said: “We’ve been giving out stickers and giving out tokens for people to put in our collection box here in Asda.”

They are keen for anyone over 18 to help with the station, which is a charity.

Volunteer roles can include presenter training, collecting patients’ song requests and fundraising at the station’s charity events.

“We do events like Stride for Life in the summer, which is for cancer, and our own Valley Park Radio quiz night which is held at the Clarendon (Royal Hotel, Gravesend) and we’re hoping to hold a race night soon.”

Anyone interested in volunteering or who would like to find out more is encouraged to come along to the studio at Darenth Valley or call them on 01322 428362.
